About Lisa
I am, in my own words a "mature" Canadian actress and happy to be so... Trained as a classical dancer, I moved on to a Rep Theatre Company in my teens and continued in this vein, also booking myriad TV Commercials until a trip to Europe changed my course. Returning to the Canadian theatre and Indie Film scene after raising our four children, I have been fortunate enough to be cast in numerous Short Films and various Features in the past few years.
Live theatre remains a part of my life, and I try to include as many productions as time allows.
I was pleased to be nominated in Spring 2016 for Best Supporting Actress in the Short Film "Still Closed" directed by Mark Datuin at the Nice international Film Festival. In 2017 I was awarded Best Supporting Actress for "Best Intentions" at the Best Actors Film Festival in San Francisco. A recent Short Film “Taken Home” directed by indigenous filmmaker Jon Elliot has garnered numerous festival awards. Upcoming projects include the release of “A Song For Us” directed by Peter Hitchcock and principal photography is due to begin 2020 on “Cry of Silence” for Akoolfilm Co. I recently completed filming for "A Taste of Blood" which will be released in fall 2021 on Hollywood Suite.
Television credits include “The Witches of Salem” , “See No Evil” and “Fear Thy Neighbor”. and the CNN series "Race For The White House".
I was also fortunate to play the role of Tilla in the award winning web series “The Spell Tutor” which placed #36 in the Web Series Word Cup.
I now have over 80 Film, Television, Theatre and Commercial (USA and Canadian national and regional) credits and continue to be active in the Toronto Indie film scene. I enjoy meeting and working with the amazingly talented new filmmakers in Canada and hope to continue my joy and passion into my “Betty White Years”.
